Zinc Yellow plated refers to the colour of the chromate that is applied after zinc has been applied. Yellow chromate increases the overall protection of the finish and is the preferred plating finish for most construction fasteners due to the good level of protection against corrosion. It can be used externally but does not offer the same protection as Galvanised or Stainless
