Plow Bolt - UNC 7/16 x 3-1/2 Plain (Box=50)

Plow Bolts are used to secure cutting edges to plows, earthmoving blades and other heavy duty equipment, they have a non-protruding head and a square neck which prevents the bolt turning when tensioning

Plow bolts are stronger than standard bolts making them the ideal choice for heavy machinery.
Plow bolts are like carriage bolts but have a flat head that sits flush once installed.

A flat head is used because they are commonly used where a domed head would be exposed.

The flat head deters wearing and allows the bolt to last longer on the scouring surface (area where the head of the bolt would be exposed to high wear)

Black or plain finish is unfinished (bare steel) has no actual protective coating. There may be an oil residue which provides some shelf life but no real corrosion protection when in use. The term “black” is an old industry term for plain. Depending on the material grade and heat treatment process the colour can vary from a shiny oily finish to a dull black
